presen(ce)t

Time. Something we’re all so pressed for. 24 hour days, but constantly needing more. It’s busy-ness over boredom. Routine around the clock. Lots of “I’ll check my schedule” and “sorry can’t talk.” We think productivity means completion and efficiency is speed--but what if I told you that “hurry” won't fulfil your heart's greatest need? “Child”, He says-- “Just be present with me!”  Time spent waiting on the Lord does not equate to waste. For minutes elapsed in His ‘NOW’ presence are historical minutes renamed, and future treasures freely gained. The present tense is outside of every boundary of time. To be present in a moment is to be released from what is ‘hind’. Let the ‘fore’ temporarily rest. What ‘used to be’ and ‘what could be’ are distracting when I long to focus on the One who IS. He is the breaker of the clocks. He disassembles the hands of time. Dismantle your offense and enable your linger with Him. You won't ever regret the tread, but your heart will always lament what snuck by in the midst of your fast paced race. Just make some space. Prepare a place. For seconds, minutes and hours have absolutely nothing on His Spirit or His beautiful face.
